HP Stopping Production webOS Mobile phones and Tablet TouchPad

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

HP has announced that they decided to stop the line WebOS devices, including smartphones and Tablet touchpad. HP has the option to use WebOS its operating system on devices such as printers, or maybe a laptop, but these will never replace the smartphones and tablets. Another option is to license the operating system, and directly compete with Android and Windows Phone 7.

Termination is due to disappointing sales results from webOS devices and applications are running on webOS is comparatively rare. Though Palm HP bought the company along its webOS with a very large value of 1.2 billion dollars.

This is really unfortunate because it is actually a lot of positive reviews from webOS either on a smartphone or tablet because of the ability multitaskingnya and unique user interfaces.
