AMD has announced the Radeon HD6990M, processor / graphics chip for the world's fastest single processor categories targeted for the mobile platform designed to provide massive computing power to mobile users. According to AMD, newest HD6990M performance is 25% faster than
Another notebook GPU. With support for AMD's CrossFire technology, hardcore gamers can acquire additional gaming performance.

AMD Radeon HD6990M based on TeraScale 2 Unified Processing Architecture Architecture featuring a 1120 stream processing units with 56 texture units and 32 ROP which produces 1.6 teraflops of computing power. Latest Radeon is already using GDDR5 memory and a PCI Express 2.1 x16 bus interface. HD6990M also supports DirectX 11 technology, AMD Eyefinity capable of displaying in the multi-display, Blu-ray 3D, stereoscopic viewing glasses / 3D, and OpenGL 4.1. Processor also has an integrated HD audio controller.

AMD Radeon HD6990M supports up to 2560 × 1600 resolution via dual-link DVI and DisplayPort and HDMI 1.4a, and also supports VGA output.
